Train/Truck Air Horns
Train or truck air horns serve the purpose of an ordinary car “honk”. They alert others of your presence, and can even identify a vehicle. They are becoming more and more popular with each passing day. For more details pertaining to air horns please contact Air Horns of Texas at 888-580-1630.
Train Air Horns
These horns produce complex pitched frequencies to bring awareness of a train to the surrounding community. They operate using compressed air, which is released from a storage tank. Once the compressed air is released from the air tank, it causes pressure by some type of mechanism. The vibrations of the diaphragm cause the air horn to sound through a custom designed horn. Air Horns of Texas commonly sell train horns as an accessory on SUV-type vehicles.
Truck Air Horns
Truck air horns operate the same way as train air horns. Air horns on a commercial truck are commonly built into the compressed air brake system. An air valve, also called a solenoid, is opened when the air horn is triggered. The sudden release of air vibrates the diaphragm, and causes the air horn to sound. Today, air horns are commonly operated by an electric air valve, which is triggered by pressing the horn button, just like a standard horn in a car.
